In response, Geochang-gun organized this event to promote the excellence of Geochang rice and encourage wider rice consumption and the formation of healthy eating habits.
This event was co-hosted by Geochang-gun, the Nonghyup Geochang-gun Branch, and the Geochang-gun Nonghyup Rice Cooperative Corporation. Visitors to the Geochang Hanmadang Grand Festival participated in a sharing event where they received Injeolmi made through Tteokmechigi (rice cake pounding) experience and 1kg of 'Bapmasi Geochanghamnida' rice, which won the 2024 Gyeongsangnam-do branded rice award.
County Governor Koo Inmo said, "We prepared this promotional event to help alleviate the difficulties faced by farmers due to the decline in rice prices," adding, "I hope many people will enjoy and support Geochang's delicious rice, which is renowned for its great taste."
