Hyundai Motor Connected Car Wireless Communication Provider Changed Back from LGU+ to KT
The telecommunications provider supplying wireless communication (telematics) lines to Hyundai Motor Company and Kia vehicles (including Genesis) is changing from LG Uplus back to KT.
According to the telecommunications industry on the 26th, KT has been selected as the wireless communication line supplier for Hyundai and Kia connected car services starting next year.
KT was the line supplier for Hyundai and others since the introduction of vehicle wireless communication, but the supplier changed to LG Uplus last year and this year. The reversion from LG Uplus to KT was reportedly decided around March this year.
Connected services remotely manage vehicles via wireless communication and utilize driving information for accident prevention and other purposes.
Hyundai offers Blue Link, Kia provides Kia Connect, and Genesis offers Genesis Connected Telematics services.
