"Youth Harmful Environment Out"... Guri City Conducts Joint Inspection with Civil, Public, and Police Sectors
Efforts to Create a Healthy Living Environment for Cheongsonyeon
On the 24th, Guri City conducted a "2024 Joint Inspection of Youth Harmful Environments by Civil, Government, and Police" focusing on areas around elementary schools and their bustling districts within Guri City.
The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 26th that it conducted a "2024 Back-to-School Youth Harmful Environment Joint Inspection by Civil, Police, and Government" on the 24th, focusing on elementary school areas and their surrounding commercial districts in Guri City to mark the start of the second semester.
A total of 29 members from six organizations participated in this inspection, including Guri City, Guri Police Station (Chief Oh Mi-ae), Korea B.B.S Gyeonggi-do Federation Guri Branch (President Ma Jeong-hyun), Guri City Mobile Patrol Unit (Captain Hong Seong-gil), Guri City Autonomous Crime Prevention Union (Captain Park Hyang-in), and the Ministry of Justice Youth Crime Prevention Committee Guri District Committee (Chairman Lee Han-yoon).
The inspection team patrolled around local elementary schools to prevent youth delinquency, checked compliance with the prohibition of sales of alcohol and tobacco to those under 19 and the posting of related notices, inspected adherence to the Youth Protection Act in establishments restricting youth entry and employment, and provided guidance on youth entry time restrictions (10 PM) at karaoke rooms and PC rooms with youth rooms.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, "I appreciate the efforts of the youth protection organizations actively participating in youth harmful environment inspections and daily foot patrols," adding, "Guri City will proactively work to block illegal and harmful environments targeting youth so that they can grow up in a safe and healthy environment."
Meanwhile, to foster a sound growth environment for youth, Guri City has designated three organizations?the Korea B.B.S Gyeonggi-do Federation Guri Branch, Guri City Mobile Patrol Unit, and Guri City Autonomous Crime Prevention Union?as youth harmful environment monitoring groups, and appointed Youth Guidance Committee Chairman Ahn Dong-gyu to actively promote youth harmful environment monitoring and guidance activities.
