Jungnang-gu's First Youth-Only Space 'Jungnang Cheongnyeoncheong' Opens Wide
Located a 5-minute walk from Meokgol Station on Line 7... Total floor area of 466.22㎡
Free use available for youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Jungnang-gu
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held an opening ceremony on the 25th to mark the official launch of 'Jungnang Youth Center,' the district's first dedicated space for youth, following its pilot operation.
The opening of Jungnang Youth Center reflects the district's continuous efforts to build youth infrastructure.
The youth population in Jungnang-gu accounts for 29% of the total population, the largest proportion among all age groups, yet there was a lack of youth-dedicated spaces that young people could truly feel connected to.
In particular, with the recent rapid increase in isolated and reclusive youth, creating a space that serves as a networking hub connecting local youth and society became urgent. Accordingly, the district established a youth-only community space to promote communication and cultural activities among young people and strengthen connections with the local community.
Jungnang Youth Center is located in a transit-oriented area, just a 5-minute walk from Exit 5 of Meokgol Station on Line 7, and consists of various youth-tailored spaces spanning from the basement first floor to the fourth floor, with a total floor area of 466.22㎡.
The main facilities include ▲a 'Program Room' for youth-specialized programs ▲a 'Multipurpose Space' for watching movies and videos or enjoying board games ▲a 'Small Meeting Space' for group studies and small gatherings ▲a 'Shared Studio' equipped for media content editing ▲and an 'Open Lounge' where users can freely study and work.
Notably, on the second floor, there are five private rooms most preferred by youth, providing an environment where they can focus on their own work and study.
The center is open free of charge to youth aged 19 to 39 residing in the district. All spaces within Jungnang Youth Center can be reserved through the Seoul Public Service Reservation System or Naver Smart Place, allowing young people to conveniently use the facilities according to their own schedules.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “Jungnang Youth Center will serve not only as a space for communication and cultural activities among the youth generation but also as a networking hub connecting local youth and society. Starting with Jungnang Youth Center, we will continuously build infrastructure for the youth generation, such as the Youth Employment Academy and Youth Center, to transform Jungnang-gu into a place where young people want to stay.”
