Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival Held as an Eco-Friendly Event Without Disposable Products
150,000 Reusable Containers Supplied to Food Trucks and Ready-to-Eat Food Booths
The Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2024 will be held as an eco-friendly event without single-use items.
The Cheonan city government announced that during the festival, which runs from the 25th to the 29th, it will supply 150,000 reusable containers, cups, forks, and spoons to 10 food trucks and 10 convenience food booths.
Visitors will receive their food in reusable containers and, after eating, are required to separate food waste from the containers and return them at designated collection stations within the venue. The collected reusable containers will be washed and sterilized by a specialized company before being used again at the food trucks and food booths.
Cheonan city plans to monitor the return rate and usage of reusable containers during this festival, address any issues, and expand the reusable container support program in the future.
A city official stated, “With this Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2024 without single-use items, we expect a significant reduction in festival waste disposal costs,” and added, “We ask for active participation and cooperation from citizens so that the culture of using reusable containers can expand and take root in local festivals.”
