Season of Urban Odors: Rapid Response 'Cleanup Team' Launched in Ulsan
Ulsan City Responds to Ginkgo Tree Odor
Early Fruit Collection and Installation of Collection Nets
An odor elimination team has been launched in Ulsan to address complaints caused by fallen ginkgo tree fruits along the streets.
On the 24th, Ulsan City announced that it will operate a mobile response team and a complaint response team for fallen ginkgo fruits, and will carry out the ginkgo tree management project until November.
The main task of the odor complaint mobile response team is the early collection of ginkgo fruits. Composed of two groups with a total of 10 members, the team uses vibrating harvesters and aerial work vehicles to collect fruits, focusing on areas where complaints about ginkgo trees are frequent.
The complaint response team is primarily responsible for collecting fallen ginkgo fruits. Consisting of five members, the team quickly begins collection operations upon receiving complaints.
This year, Ulsan City has piloted the installation of fruit collection nets on 15 ginkgo trees to collect naturally fallen fruits.
The fruit collection nets prevent the ginkgo fruits from falling directly to the ground, which reduces odor and allows for easy replacement of the nets.
