LG Chem Raises Awareness of Biodiversity on Bamseom with Youth Activists
LG Chem has teamed up with youth activists to promote the protection of Bamseom Island's environment and biodiversity.
On the 22nd, at the Seoul Jamsugyo Ttubok Ttubok Festival, the 'We Are Green Heroes 2' activists set up a biodiversity booth for Bamseom Island and introduced various activities, LG Chem announced on the 23rd.
'We Are Green Heroes' is a youth activist development project for the preservation of Bamseom Island and biodiversity, launched in 2023 by LG Chem and Good Neighbors Seoul Regional Headquarters. It was recently designated as an 'Excellent Environmental Education Program' by the Ministry of Environment in recognition of its eco-friendliness and excellence.
The activists, consisting of about 40 elementary and middle school students, carried out various citizen participation programs to raise awareness of the need to preserve biodiversity. They distributed self-produced goods themed around endangered animals such as otters, increasing public interest in biodiversity.
