The Sinwol Culture and Arts Center (36 Gomdallae-ro, Sinwol 1-dong) is a newly established branch of the Yangcheon Cultural Center in Sinwol-dong, where cultural and artistic infrastructure had been lacking. It was remodeled and redeveloped from the existing Gomdallae Dream Village Community Facility, which had low utilization.
The Sinwol Culture and Arts Center has a total floor area of 295.29㎡ and consists of four above-ground floors. The center offers healing programs combining meditation and culture and arts, cultural programs for all ages from children to adults, and serves as a space for local cultural artists.
After its opening, the center will operate its fourth-quarter culture and arts courses starting in October. The main programs include ▲Traditional Culture (Korean dance, janggu, haegeum, etc.) ▲Music (guitar, harmonica) ▲Health (danjeon breathing, yoga, pilates, line dance, etc.) ▲Liberal Arts (pungsujiri, myeongrihak, history, etc.) ▲Adult Language (Chinese) ▲Adult Art (calligraphy, calligraphy art, oil painting, etc.) ▲Children’s Courses (art therapy), comprising 32 courses across 7 fields. The enrollment capacity ranges from 10 to 30 people per course. Residents wishing to enroll can visit or call after checking the Yangcheon Cultural Center website.
The district expects the Sinwol Culture and Arts Center to become a cultural and artistic hub in Sinwol-dong, alongside the Yangcheon 50 Plus Center, Health Healing Culture Hall, and the Sinwol Lifelong Learning Center, which opened in July, leading cultural arts and lifelong learning for local residents. The opening ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on the 23rd.
