Police Launch Internal Investigation into FC Seoul's Lingard over 'Unlicensed Electric Scooter' Allegations
Professional soccer player Jesse Lingard of FC Seoul is under police investigation on suspicion of operating an electric scooter without a license.
According to the police on the 17th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul has initiated a pre-booking investigation (internal inquiry) into Lingard.
Lingard is suspected of riding an electric scooter without a license around 10:20 PM the previous day in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The police began the inquiry after noticing that Lingard posted related photos on social media (SNS). The photos have since been deleted.
The police plan to investigate Lingard's license status and whether he was under the influence of alcohol.
According to local UK media, Lingard was fined approximately 100 million KRW and had his license suspended for 18 months last September in the UK for drunk driving and speeding.
