Final Competition Held on the 6th
11 Teams from 12 Universities Participate
Hanseo University completed the '2024 G-Star: Ocean's Eleven' project on the 6th, where university students from across the country gathered with the goal of 'solving marine issues and fostering startups utilizing marine resources.'
A total of 11 teams from 12 universities participated in this project. The G-Star project aims to cultivate global entrepreneurial talent capable of entering rapidly growing emerging markets such as Asia. To achieve this, the core tasks include supporting overseas market exploration and refining startup ideas based on local demand.
Students identified marine issues and established market research plans through a 2-day, 1-night boot camp held in June. They then concretized their market exploration plans through online education and mentoring related to market exploration. Following this, they conducted local market exploration in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, during a 5-day, 3-night 'Value-up Camp' in August.
In Vietnam, they collaborated with students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities and HUTECH University to conduct local market exploration. Finally, based on the results of the local market research, the final competition was held on the 6th.
At this competition, Hanseo University students Hyunseong Lee (Class of 2019, Department of Aviation Software Engineering) and Hyungbin Kim (Class of 2019, Department of Aircraft Mechanical Engineering) received the Excellence Award.

Kim Gitae, Director of the Employment and Startup Support Center, stated, "For our country, surrounded by the sea, fostering startups utilizing marine resources is important, but we also need to increase the proportion of marine-related startups among domestic startups. Through this program, we will actively support students to take an interest in solving marine issues and to discover various items utilizing marine resources to address these problems."
