Gumi City Keeps Moving Without Rest Even During Chuseok... Entertainment and Safety Fully Prepared
Comprehensive Measures Prepared... Operation of Nine Task Forces in the General Situation Room and Prompt Response to Civil Complaints
Minimizing Inconvenience by Maintaining 24-Hour Emergency Medical System and Expanding Household Waste Collection
As the Chuseok holiday approaches, citizens are curious about the operation of hospitals and pharmacies, as well as the opening status of public facilities and tourist attractions.
Concerns such as "What if hospitals and pharmacies are closed during the holiday?" and "I'm worried because public facilities are closed and there’s nowhere to go" are being raised.
To address these concerns, Gumi City will remain fully operational throughout the Chuseok holiday. Comprehensive measures have been prepared across four key areas?livelihood economy, medical and health care, safety and transportation, and daily life stability?so that citizens can enjoy the holiday with peace of mind.

Through a special emergency duty system with nine teams and 90 staff members, support will be provided for disaster safety, road management, transportation, and cleaning measures to minimize inconvenience for citizens.
In particular, to alleviate concerns about medical service gaps, a 24-hour emergency medical system has been established. Three emergency medical institutions, including Gumi Cha Hospital, will be in operation, along with 152 on-duty medical institutions and 219 holiday duty pharmacies.
Related information can be found on the Gumi City and Public Health Center websites, as well as in the Chuseok Holiday Life Guide.
The city has also prepared a variety of cultural events for citizens and visitors to enjoy together during the holiday. From the 16th to the 17th, the Hangawi Traditional Performance Festival will be held at Geumosan Provincial Park, offering traditional performances and hands-on activities. In addition, the Gumi Media Center will offer free screenings of the films "Mom's Notebook" on the 16th and "Three Days of Vacation" on the 18th. Major tourist attractions such as Ecoland, Gumi Camping Site, Silla Buddhism First Transmission Site, Gumi Art Gallery, and Gumi Neo-Confucianism History Museum will also expand their opening hours during the holiday, providing citizens with a variety of experiences.
Measures to improve transportation convenience have also been implemented. Thirteen public paid parking lots will be open free of charge, and parking enforcement will be suspended to assist travelers. Public transportation will operate at normal levels, and environmental cleanup activities and waste collection schedules will be expanded to maintain a clean environment. The city’s meticulous consideration for citizen convenience is evident in both transportation and environmental sectors.
The city is also actively working to revitalize the local economy. Gumi Love Gift Certificates worth 12 billion KRW will be issued and sold at a discount, while the supply and price trends of essential goods and major items will be monitored in real time to promote consumption at traditional markets and support rational spending.
Full support is also being provided for vulnerable groups. Holiday consolation funds will be delivered to 878 low-income households, and gifts will be provided to 66 social welfare facilities, putting the spirit of sharing into practice.
Any inconveniences that arise during the Chuseok holiday will be promptly addressed through the Gumi City Integrated Situation Room, and in cases requiring emergency medical care, the emergency medical response team will provide information on medical institutions and holiday duty pharmacies.
Mayor Kim Jangho emphasized, "We are doing our utmost to ensure that the city’s comprehensive Chuseok holiday measures are implemented seamlessly. We will continue to maintain a thorough emergency response system throughout the holiday so that all citizens can have a safe and enjoyable holiday."
