"Supporting University Student Startups for Success"... Korea Student Aid Foundation and Daegu University Sign MOU
The Korea Student Aid Foundation (Chairman Bae Byungil) announced on the 11th that it has signed a business agreement with Daegu University (President Park Soonjin) to support entrepreneurship among university and graduate students.
This agreement was established to strengthen cooperation between the Korea Student Aid Foundation, which operates entrepreneurship dormitories for university and graduate students, and Daegu University, a leading university for entrepreneurship in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, to foster local entrepreneurial talent and promote entrepreneurship.
The Korea Student Aid Foundation operates entrepreneurship dormitories in five regions nationwide (Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon), providing free housing and a variety of entrepreneurship programs to allow university and graduate students to focus solely on their startups.
Daegu University was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Entrepreneurship Leading University Fostering Project" in 2016, and was the first in the country to carry out startup package support projects for each stage of growth (preliminary, early, and leap) over three years (2019-2021). In 2022, it was selected as the only lead university in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region among six universities nationwide for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ entrepreneurship-centered university support project, serving as a hub for entrepreneurship support in the region.
Through this agreement, the two institutions have agreed to cooperate in discovering and nurturing local entrepreneurial talent, supporting entrepreneurship incubation infrastructure, and linking entrepreneurship programs between institutions.
In addition, both institutions plan to engage in active exchanges following this agreement and to further specify detailed measures for strengthening cooperation.
Bae Byungil, Chairman of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, stated, "The Korea Student Aid Foundation will systematically support university and graduate student entrepreneurs so that they can succeed locally by expanding and building cooperative systems with regional hub universities."
