Huons Takes Initiative to Protect 'Saengmuldayangseong'
Huons recently announced on the 10th that it participated in the '2024 Seongnam City Biodiversity Survey (BioBlitz)' hosted by Seongnam City.
BioBlitz is a compound word of Bio, meaning life and living organisms, and Blitz, meaning a large-scale attack. It refers to an exploration activity where experts and non-experts together explore a specific area to find and list observable species.
This BioBlitz was held near Sanseong Park within Namhansanseong in Seongnam City. The event was conducted with experts in various fields such as plants, mushrooms, insects, spiders, benthic large invertebrates, and birds. Over 60 participants, including employees of Huons Global and Huons, as well as Seongnam City’s Environmental Policy Division and natural environment monitors, took part in the survey activities.
In this activity, Huons surveyed plant groups and benthic large invertebrates. The results of the survey were recorded on the online nature activity sharing platform Natureing and will be built into Seongnam City’s local ecosystem species data. This data will be registered on the Urban Ecology Status Map and the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) to be used as resources for the local community and global species information.
