Pukyong National University Professors Park Junhyung and Choi Yosoon Selected as Outstanding Innovative Instructors
Professor Park Junhyung (Department of English Language and Literature) and Professor Choi Yosoon (Department of Energy Resources Engineering) at Pukyong National University have been selected as 'Outstanding Faculty for Innovative Teaching'.
Jang Youngsoo, President of Pukyong National University, presented certificates of recognition to Professors Park Junhyung and Choi Yosoon at the Innovative Teaching Excellence Award Ceremony held on the 4th at the Video Seminar Room of the Academic Information Center.
Pukyong National University selected and awarded outstanding faculty for the first time to share excellent innovative courses, enhance members' understanding of innovative teaching, and expand faculty participation in innovative teaching practices.
Professor Park Junhyung was recognized for his achievements, such as winning an award from the Korean Association for American Studies for a project conducted in a PBL (Problem-Based Learning/Project-Based Learning) innovative class. Professor Choi Yosoon was acknowledged for outstanding outcomes in innovative teaching, including winning an award at the 5th Mine-Tech Festa Innovative Technology Competition this year through ME (Maker Education) innovative classes.
Pukyong National University, led by the Center for Teaching and Learning, has established guidelines for innovative teaching practices and supports eight types of innovative classes: Problem-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, Team-Based Learning, Flipped Learning, Blended Learning, Team Teaching, Co-Teaching, Maker Education, and Action Learning. Each year, approximately 1,500 innovative classes are offered.
The Center for Teaching and Learning plans to select outstanding faculty for innovative teaching each semester to continuously discover, share, and disseminate exemplary cases within the university.
