Bye Bye Plastic... Yangsan City Launches "Shopping Cart Embracing the Earth" Environmental Campaign
Let's Join in Reducing Single-Use Products!
On the 5th, ahead of the 16th Resource Circulation Day, Yangsan City in Gyeongnam held an environmental campaign at the Yangsan Agricultural and Marine Products Distribution Center in collaboration with the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Environmental Headquarters of the Korea Environment Corporation and Uri Mart.
The "Shopping Cart Embracing the Earth" environmental campaign aims to expand the role of recycling by encouraging distributors and sellers to participate in recycling activities, in addition to the recycling obligations of producers. This consumer-centered environmental campaign promotes carbon neutrality in the local community and utilizes retail stores as customer touchpoints.
This environmental campaign, under the slogan "Bye Bye Plastic," encouraged the use of reusable products instead of disposable ones in daily life. The campaign also included promotional activities such as giving away shopping bags made from recycled banners and providing information on proper waste separation methods.
Kim Joeun, Head of the Resource Circulation Division, said, "I hope all citizens will join us in practicing 'Bye Bye Plastic' in their daily lives."
