Dongkuk Steel Group Resumes Sponsorship of Big Issue Korea
Resumption of Exchanges Interrupted by the Pandemic

View original imageDongkuk Steel Group has resumed its sponsorship of Big Issue Korea, which was temporarily suspended due to the pandemic.
On the 3rd, Dongkuk Steel Group held a 'Big Issue Korea Sponsorship Ceremony' at Ferrum Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, and donated approximately 20 million KRW. This is the third support following about 10 million KRW in 2018 and about 15 million KRW in 2019.
The donation from Dongkuk Steel Group will be used to support the 'Seoul 2024 Homeless World Cup' event, held for eight days from the 21st of this month at Hanyang University Main Stadium, organized by Big Issue Korea, as well as to purchase carts for Big Issue magazine vendors.
Attendees at the sponsorship ceremony included Kwak Jin-su, Head of Strategy at Dongkuk Holdings, Kim Soo-yeol, Chairman of Big Issue Korea, and Ahn Byung-hoon, Executive Director of Big Issue Korea.
At the ceremony, Kwak Jin-su, Head of Strategy at Dongkuk Holdings, said, "I hope this will help to some extent in promoting the independence and will of the housing-vulnerable population," adding, "We plan to continuously consider ways to support neighbors in need."

Big Issue Korea is a public interest corporation that started in 2008 as the 'Big Issue Korea Edition Preparation Group' and was launched in 2010. It provides work training experience services by having homeless people work as vendors selling the 'Big Issue' magazine.
