Dong-Eui University Department of Game Engineering Wins Top Prize at This Year's Orange Summer Game Jam
Winning First Place at the Mubak2il Competition: Prize Money and Mentoring Benefits
The student team "Mohaji" from the Department of Game Engineering at Dong-Eui University received the Grand Prize at the "2024 Orange Summer Game Jam," jointly hosted by Orange Planet, the Smilegate Startup Foundation, and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency.
The competition, held for university student game developers in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, took place from August 30 to 31 at the Southeast Information Security Center in Centum City, Haeundae District. The Mohaji team, consisting of Kim Jaehak, Jung Taesu, Park Jaehyung, and Ahn Taesung, all seniors in Game Engineering, and Son Sunghyuk, a senior in Computer Engineering, developed a game that reinterpreted the theme "Death is not the end" through the ecosystem cycle and food chain. Their game was selected as the top entry among ten participating teams.
As a prize, the Mohaji team received 500,000 KRW in prize money, additional points when applying for residency at the Busan Global Game Center, and ongoing mentoring support.

Team leader Jung Taesu said, "I am grateful to my teammates who worked hard during the two-day, overnight competition. I was curious about our team's abilities, and winning against teams representing each university gave us a lot of confidence. I will strive to become a passionate developer who creates great games."
