Jeonnam Achieves Record Number of Gold Medals at National Skills Competition
Vocational High School Students Win 5 Gold, 6 Silver, and 4 Bronze Medals
Students from vocational high schools in Jeonnam won the highest number of gold medals in history at the 59th National Skills Competition held in Gyeongbuk from the 24th to the 30th of last month.
According to the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education on the 2nd, the Jeonnam vocational high school student athletes participated in 29 categories with 85 competitors, winning 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 4 bronze medals, 5 excellence awards, and 13 encouragement awards, achieving outstanding results.

View original imageThe gold medals were awarded to students Park Da-seong and Oh Moon-hyeok from Naju Technical High School, Kim Beom-jun and Chu Myeong-gyu from Yeosu Technical High School, and Min Jun-young from Yeosu Technical High School.
The silver medals went to Heo Chan from Yeosu Information Science High School, Park Yu-min from Jeonnam Beauty High School, Lee Geon and Park Seong-pyo from Suncheon Technical High School, Kim Won-bin from Naju Technical High School, and the team of Jang Seong-hyun and Lee Ye-jun from Yeosu Technical High School. The bronze medals were awarded to Choi Tae-woo from Yeosu Information Science High School, Lim Yang-geon from Yeosu Technical High School, Seo Hyun-seong from Naju Technical High School, and the team of Kim Hyun-ah and Jeong Seong-jae from Yeosu Technical High School.
The first and second place winners in each category of this competition will participate in the ‘48th International Skills Olympics National Representative Selection Evaluation’ to be held in Shanghai, China in 2026, and will be exempted from the practical exam for the industrial engineer certification in the same category.
