Osan City Draws Blueprint for Upgrading 1.16 Million㎡ of Aging Industrial Area
Public Hearing on the '2030 Industrial Area Basic Plan' Held
Osan City in Gyeonggi-do is set to actively prepare a blueprint for the advancement of aging industrial and semi-industrial areas.
On the 2nd, Osan City announced that it held a public hearing on the 29th of last month at the city hall's main conference room to establish the '2030 Osan Industrial Area Master Plan.'

The 'Industrial Area Master Plan' is a statutory plan established under the 'Special Act on the Management and Revitalization of Urban Industrial Areas' to systematically manage and revitalize urban industrial areas, improve the environment of aging industrial zones, and promote their advancement.
The target area for this master plan covers 1,165,000㎡, which accounts for 46% of Osan City's total industrial and semi-industrial areas of 2,530,000㎡. Industrial complexes such as Jangsan 1, 2, and 3 Industrial Complexes and Sema General Industrial Complex are excluded from the planning scope.
The public hearing was attended by citizens, experts, and officials, proceeding in the order of progress report on the task, explanation of the draft industrial area master plan, expert panel discussion, and collection of residents' opinions.
Lee Gwon-jae, Mayor of Osan City, stated, "Through the establishment of the master plan, we will actively listen to citizens' opinions to serve as nourishment for a self-sufficient Connect City with a population of 500,000 and ensure it has self-sustaining functions."

Meanwhile, the industrial area master plan will be finalized after basic surveys, opinion collection through public hearings, strategic environmental impact assessments, and deliberations by the local urban planning committee.
