Ulsan Office of Education Distributes Web Drama to Prevent Digital Sex Crimes Such as Deepfake
Educational Materials for Schools Uploaded to Social Media
Card News Created Containing Guidelines for Prevention and Response
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Changsoo) has distributed a web drama video for the prevention of digital sex crimes, such as illegal synthetic materials (deepfake) sex offenses that are spreading nationwide, and made it available as educational material in schools.
The educational video, "My Face, My Story," which covers how to respond to and prevent digital sex crimes, was produced with a duration of 10 minutes and 14 seconds.
The video, produced in a drama format, tells the story of a student who is a victim of illegal synthetic materials and, instead of trying to solve the problem alone, bravely seeks help from those around them to resolve the issue. The video covers types of digital sex crimes and how to respond if one becomes a victim, and also features the counseling and support process of the Dong-gu Domestic and Sexual Violence Integrated Counseling Center, a digital sex crime specialized counseling center in Ulsan.
The video is available on the Ulsan Office of Education’s YouTube channel, as well as on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
The city office of education also produced a card news containing prevention and response guidelines for digital sex crimes and posted it on the office’s website. It provides information on types of digital sex crimes, such as illegal filming and distribution of photos or videos, along with behavioral guidelines.
An official from the Ulsan Office of Education stated, "We will strengthen related preventive education so that students can be aware of digital sex crimes, and we will actively support victims with counseling and psychological treatment."
If digital sex crime damage occurs, victims should secure evidence such as the illegal footage or internet address (URL) and report it to the Digital Sex Crime Victim Support Center.
