'72 Billion KRW Repayment Delay' Fugitive PG Company Lumen Payments CEO Arrested
A, the CEO of payment gateway company Lumen Payments (age 35), who fled after causing a delay in the repayment of advance payment loans worth 72 billion won and facing the risk of arrest, was apprehended and detained on the 30th.
The Financial and Securities Crime Joint Investigation Unit of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Gong Jun-hyeok) announced that A was detained on the same day. A failed to appear at the pre-arrest detention hearing on the 23rd and fled. Consequently, an arrest warrant was issued by the court on the 27th, and the prosecution formed a dedicated investigation team to track A’s whereabouts, ultimately capturing him at an undisclosed location in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
A is under investigation by the prosecution on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (fraud) for embezzling approximately 72 billion won in advance payment loans from online investment-linked finance company B by using a paper company to secure false credit card sales receivables as collateral.
