Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Wins Korea ESG Management Awards Public Sector Grand Prize
Only Public Institution under Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Receive Award

Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 30th that it was recognized as a model company for ESG management by receiving the Best Award in the public sector at the ‘2024 Korea ESG Management Awards’ hosted by the Korea ESG Committee.
Held for the second time this year following last year, the ‘Korea ESG Management Awards’ selects companies, public institutions, and local governments with outstanding ESG activity achievements, including ESG management activities, management levels, and internalization, aimed at realizing a sustainable society.
On the 30th, at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, Hong Sang-pyo, Chief Operating Officer of Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, received the Grand Prize in the public sector of the Korea ESG Management Awards 'The Best ESG'.

As a specialized port operation institution, the Authority was honored with the Best Award in recognition of its contributions to ESG management, including △ responding to environmental regulations by strengthening carbon neutrality capabilities △ establishing a safe port ecosystem and co-growth with the local community △ enhancing ethical management based on transparent information disclosure and decision-making.
By establishing the ESG vision of ‘Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Leading Sustainable ESG Values’ and formulating the 2030 mid-to-long-term ESG management promotion plan to advance strategic and execution tasks, the Authority has produced numerous internal and external ESG-related achievements such as △ being selected as the world’s best port in safety and environment at the IAPH Sustainability Awards △ receiving the highest grade in the public institution co-growth evaluation △ achieving excellent grades in customer satisfaction surveys and disaster management evaluations.
