The district invested a total of 19.4 billion KRW to create a flat parking lot (a parking lot installed on vacant land) on 30 plots totaling 2,374㎡ at 332-165 Seokgwan-dong and other locations, securing 77 parking spaces. The Seokgwan-dong public parking lot will undergo a one-month pilot operation starting from the 30th and will switch to a paid operation system from October this year.
The district had collected residents' complaints about the lack of parking spaces through the 'On-site Mayor's Office,' which discusses local issues with residents on-site and seeks solutions. Mayor Lee Seung-ro said, "As this area is densely populated with villas and urban-style residential housing, we will do our best to resolve the daily inconveniences of residents," and has been closely managing the construction of the Seokgwan-dong public parking lot as a key agenda item in meetings.
According to statistics from the Seongbuk-gu Urban Management Corporation, Seokgwan-dong has a shortage of parking lots, with about 1,800 people on the waiting list for resident-priority parking zones.
