Seongdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeong Won-oh) is operating the ‘Menopause Health Management Class’ to support middle-aged women experiencing various physical and mental changes to lead healthy and vibrant lives.
Menopause, which generally begins in the mid-40s, is called the ‘second puberty’ and many women suffer from rapid physical and mental changes caused by hormonal influences.
Accordingly, the district operates a health management class for women in their 40s to 60s to help alleviate menopausal symptoms and enhance health management capabilities. In particular, the program provides essential health management theories and experiential programs for middle-aged women to increase understanding of menopause and promote comfortable and active daily life through improved health habits.
The health management class is jointly operated by the Seongdong-gu Public Health Center and the Seongdong 50 Plus Center, and will be held seven times every Wednesday and Friday from September 4 to 27.
It will offer specialized health lectures in areas such as traditional Korean medicine, mental health, nutrition, and physical activity for menopause management, as well as personalized health information through health monitoring including metabolic syndrome tests, physical fitness measurements, and health consultations.
