Police Request Arrest Warrant for Man in His 50s in 'Guro-gu Restaurant Murder' Case
The police have applied for an arrest warrant for a Chinese man who wielded a weapon and killed someone at a restaurant in Guro-gu, Seoul.
On the 26th, the Guro Police Station in Seoul announced that they had applied for an arrest warrant for a man in his 50s with Chinese nationality, identified as Mr. A, on charges of murder and violation of the Immigration Control Act the previous day.
Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon at around 9:10 p.m. on the 24th at a restaurant in Guro-gu, killing Mr. B, a Chinese man also in his 50s. Mr. B was transported to a nearby hospital but reportedly died at around 10:50 p.m. the same day.
Mr. A fled immediately after the crime and was apprehended by the police at a lodging facility in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, about 2 hours and 40 minutes later.
The police confirmed that Mr. A was an undocumented foreigner and also applied charges for violating the Immigration Control Act.
