Cheonan City Dispatches Young Interns to Silicon Valley Companies
Support Provided for Six People Including Airfare, Accommodation, and Transportation Costs
Cheonan City in Chungnam Province will dispatch young interns to companies in Silicon Valley, USA, to foster digital talent.
This is part of the 'Cheonan-Style Star Digital Talent Development Project,' aimed at nurturing talent with artificial intelligence and software capabilities in the era of digital transformation.
The city recruited 110 participants for the talent development program and, through digital-related training in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and big data since May, selected a final group of six.
Starting in September, these six will participate in internships for three months at four companies in Silicon Valley, USA: ETRI, CosignOn Inc, QRT, and KIC, which are engaged in translation services and software development.
The city will provide support for airfare, accommodation, and transportation expenses, and after the internship, will offer interview and employment opportunities through the Cheonan-Style Job Placement Program as part of post-internship management.
Mayor Park Sangdon said, "I hope that through internship experiences in Silicon Valley, the global center of the technology industry, our young people will be able to settle stably in the region."
