Helping Install App at Child Welfare Facilities for 500 Local Children by December
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) supports the mobile app ‘Denti-i Online,’ which allows users to easily diagnose their oral condition using a smartphone.
After taking a photo of the teeth with a mobile phone and uploading it to the app, artificial intelligence (AI) analysis provides information about the oral condition. It offers detailed guidance on areas where brushing is insufficient through dental plaque measurement.
As data accumulates, time-series analysis is conducted. Changes over time are automatically tracked to indicate the prevalence of cavities. Personalized oral health care methods are also provided in the form of card news and videos.
The app was developed by Professor Lee Jae-young’s research team at Dankook University, along with Thomaston and Kai AI Company. The information collected from users is linked with the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center and utilized for establishing oral health policies.
Gwangjin-gu conducts on-site education for child welfare facilities and elementary schools in the area to assist with app installation and usage instructions. They plan to recruit 500 participants by the end of this year, and as of the current date (August 22), 211 children have received support.
