Gyeonggi-do, Allocates 37.1077 Trillion Won for 1st Supplementary Budget... Focus on 'Livelihood Recovery and Local Economy'
Gyeonggi Province has prepared the first supplementary budget for 2024, totaling 37.1077 trillion KRW.
The province announced that it submitted the first supplementary budget, which increases the original budget of 36.121 trillion KRW by 986.7 billion KRW, to the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on the 22nd.
Gyeonggi Province explained that the supplementary budget was prepared focusing on legal and mandatory expenses, promoting livelihood recovery, enhancing residents' convenience, and revitalizing the local economy.
Looking at the main contents of the supplementary budget, 224 billion KRW was allocated for legal and mandatory expenses such as city and county adjustment grants.
Additionally, 261.2 billion KRW was added to support vulnerable groups and small business owners for livelihood recovery. Major items include ▲ 135.5 billion KRW for existing housing rental and Happy Housing construction ▲ 15 billion KRW for temporary youth monthly rent support ▲ 25.9 billion KRW for housing benefits ▲ 20.8 billion KRW for long-term care facilities and home care benefits for the elderly ▲ 17.7 billion KRW for disability benefits and activity support ▲ 2.4 billion KRW for public medical center support ▲ 1.3 billion KRW for rare disease patient medical expense support ▲ 33.9 billion KRW for local currency issuance ▲ 1 billion KRW for Yellow Umbrella subscription support, among others.
Along with this, 217.5 billion KRW was also reflected for enhancing residents' convenience and revitalizing the local economy. Furthermore, 152.4 billion KRW for the refund of land acquisition costs related to the K-Culture Valley public project, which was canceled in June, was included in this supplementary budget.

The supplementary budget will be reviewed and approved at the 377th extraordinary session of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, held from September 2 to 13.
