In March, KB Securities signed a business agreement with Woowa Brothers and decided to support the Baemin Vacation Lunchbox project by Baedal Minjok twice during the 2024 summer and winter vacations. To provide children with a more special experience, they prepared the economic and financial education program 'KB Star Economic Classroom.'
KB Star Economic Classroom is a representative economic and financial education program by the KB Financial Public Welfare Foundation for elementary, middle, and high school students. Professional economic education instructors from the foundation visit schools directly to conduct economic education.
KB Securities, together with Baedal Minjok and World Vision, recruited schools to conduct the KB Star Economic Classroom while preparing the Baemin Vacation Lunchbox. During the 2024 summer vacation, economic and financial education was conducted at a total of four schools in Seoul, Gunsan, and other locations.
In the 2024 summer vacation KB Star Economic Classroom, under the theme of 'Rational Consumption and Asset Management,' students learned about types of income and what rational consumption means, explored various types of taxes and insurance, and reflected on the importance of financial planning.
Additionally, KB Securities supported meals for a total of 1,000 children across eight regions nationwide through the Baemin Vacation Lunchbox and also provided gift cards for book purchases.
Like this summer vacation, KB Securities plans to sponsor the Baemin Vacation Lunchbox again during the upcoming winter vacation and conduct the KB Star Economic Classroom for schools applying for economic and financial education in collaboration with World Vision.
The Baemin Vacation Lunchbox project supports children at risk of food insecurity who are economically vulnerable and require social care, such as those from dual-income or single-parent families, by providing four meals per week during school vacations when no school meals are available, through lunchboxes and Baemin meal vouchers. Since 2020, the project has been jointly operated by the international relief and development NGO World Vision and Baedal Minjok.
