Rep. Kim Geon Proposes 'Battery Real-Name Act' for Electric Vehicles
On the 16th, Kim Geon, a member of the People Power Party, introduced the "Battery Real-Name Act" (an amendment to the Automobile Management Act) as the main proposer, which mandates the disclosure of electric vehicle battery manufacturers.
The amendment requires that the product name and manufacturer of the battery installed in electric vehicles be compulsorily registered in the automobile registration ledger. The automobile registration ledger can be issued free of charge through the online civil service "Government24".
