Hyundai Family Delivered 'Archery Team Lunchbox' to Lydia Ko
"Lydia Ko Receives Procurement Request from Mother-in-Law"
"Made in the Same Restaurant as Archery Team's Lunchboxes"
Jung Tae-young, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Card, shared an anecdote about delivering Korean lunchboxes to his daughter-in-law Lydia Ko (27, New Zealand) in Paris, France. Lydia Ko previously won the gold medal in the women's golf event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On the 13th, Jung posted on his personal Facebook, "At the Olympics, athletes are in quarantine, so food for conditioning becomes exceptionally important," adding, "But Lydia Ko's love for Korean food is a well-known story." Lydia Ko married Jung's son, Jung Joon, in 2022.

However, due to strict security, it was difficult to deliver the carefully prepared lunchboxes directly to the Olympic Village where Lydia Ko was staying. Ultimately, Jung explained, "We started a complicated operation where lunchboxes were delivered daily to officials at the Olympic venue, who then passed them on to Lydia's side."
He expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the restaurant that made the lunchboxes with care every day, the people who helped, and the French staff at the venue who understood the purpose and carefully stored and delivered the foreign food," and added, "Perhaps the energy of the archery gold medal was also transmitted to Lydia through the lunchboxes."
Meanwhile, Lydia Ko recorded a final total of 10-under-par 278 strokes in the women's golf event at the Paris Olympics, securing the gold medal. Jung flew directly to Paris to visit the event site and support his daughter-in-law.
