Ulleungdo and Dokdo Showcase Their Charms at 'Island Day' Event
Ulleung County in North Gyeongsang Province participated in the 5th Island Day event held in Boryeong, conducting promotional activities to raise awareness of "Emerald Ulleungdo! The Nation's Island, Dokdo."

View original imageThis event, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, was held at Boryeong Mud Theme Park and Daecheon Beach, offering a variety of attractions and entertainment under the theme "Our Islands, Wonderful."
As the only island county in North Gyeongsang Province, Ulleung County opened a dedicated exhibition hall to promote the region's charm and the excellence of its local specialties. In addition, they operated an interactive event zone to fully showcase the appeal of Ulleungdo and Dokdo to Boryeong citizens and tourists visiting the event.
County Governor Nam Han-gwon said, "Last year, the disappointment was great as the first national event since the county's establishment, Island Day, was canceled due to the impact of a typhoon. We are participating in this event held in Boryeong, our sister city since 2017, to promote solidarity and win-win cooperation among island regions."
On this day, Ulleung County was honored with a Prime Minister's Institutional Commendation at the commemorative ceremony in recognition of its contribution to the development of islands.
