Introducing Symbiotic Green Onions Priced Around 1000 Won for Three Days Starting the 9th
Lotte Mart, operated by Lotte Shopping, announced on the 9th that it will sell win-win agricultural products for one week from the 8th to the 14th of this month to stabilize the soaring vegetable prices caused by the recent heatwave.
Win-win agricultural products refer to items that have no difference in taste and freshness compared to regular products but have variations in appearance or some blemishes on the surface. The purpose is to reduce the burden on customers' shopping baskets and provide sales channels for agricultural products that are difficult to commercialize.

As a representative product, the 'Win-win Dadagi Cucumber (5 pieces)' is sold at 3,990 KRW, half the price of regular cucumbers. The 'Win-win Peeled Garlic (1 kg)', which has smaller cloves, is offered at 7,990 KRW, about 30% cheaper than regular garlic. From the 9th to the 11th of this month, for three days, 'Win-win Green Onion', freshly harvested and with simplified packaging from the production area, will be sold at 1,490 KRW, about 40% cheaper than the market price.
Lotte Mart’s vegetable merchandiser (MD) secured quantities of 19 tons of cucumbers, 22 tons of peeled garlic, and 24 tons of green onions by monitoring the crop conditions since June in cucumber production areas such as Hongcheon and Buyeo, garlic production area in Changnyeong, and green onion production areas in Cheorwon and Pyeongchang.
Additionally, starting from the 8th, they will sell 'Jinyulmi New Chestnut Sweet Potato (1 kg)', 'Our Country Daehan Onion (1.5 kg)', 'Golden King (Geumwang) Potato (900 g)', and 'Eco-friendly Dalkkomi Mini Pumpkin (2 pieces)'. These products are part of the 'K-Variety Project', which supports the activation of domestic variety agricultural products and provides distribution channels for farmers. The K-variety products introduced this time are domestic varieties developed to complement productivity and quality in response to recent rapid climate changes.
