North Korea and Russia Join Hands in Healthcare Sector... Cooperate to Eradicate Tuberculosis and AIDS
Russia and North Korea have signed an agreement on cooperation in the fields of healthcare, medical education, and science, Russian state-run TASS news agency reported on the 6th (local time).
According to this agreement, Russia and North Korea plan to cooperate in healthcare areas such as maternal and child health, healthy lifestyle habits, and epidemic control.
In particular, they agreed to promote cooperation in combating infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), and hepatitis, as well as in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular, endocrine, tumor, and other diseases, medical professional training and retraining, and regulation of the distribution of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Following the summit meetings between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong-un held in Russia and North Korea in September last year and June this year respectively, North Korea and Russia have been strengthening comprehensive cooperation.
