Silla University Holds Graduation Ceremony for the 6th Urban Agriculture Practical Training Course at the 50+ Life Redesign College
Shilla University (President Heo Namsik) Lifelong Education Center announced on the 6th that it held the completion ceremony for the 6th class of the "50+ Life Redesign College, Urban Agriculture Practical Education."
The ceremony, held on the 3rd at the Shilla University Yaeumgwan Small Theater, was attended by Kim Sunseok, Director of the Lifelong Education Center, Kim Sangkwon, Chief Professor of the 50+ Life Redesign College, faculty, staff, and about 60 students.
The 50+ Life Redesign College is a program operated in partnership with Busan City and 10 universities, offering specialized curricula at each university to support diverse social participation of the "new middle-aged" generation, aged 50 to 64, residing in Busan.
The Shilla University Lifelong Education Center, selected as an operating institution for the 50+ Life Redesign College in 2019, has been running the "Urban Agriculture Practical Education" program to nurture urban agriculture experts who can create new value in 21st-century agriculture and vitalize the local economy, moving beyond the realm of hobby farming.
The graduates of this Urban Agriculture Practical Education program shared, "We regained vitality in our lives after retirement," and added, "We are happy to learn about urban agriculture, meet good people, and share our daily lives."

Even after the completion ceremony for the regular course of the 50+ Life Redesign College, the Shilla University Lifelong Education Center plans to continue supporting graduates to establish themselves as urban agriculture experts by connecting them with various programs such as clubs and education for returning to farming or rural life.
