Busan Port Authority Recruiting Participants for Busan Port Construction and Operation Experience Program
Expansion of Eligibility to Include Middle and High School Students in Addition to University Students Starting This Year
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) and the Busan Port Construction Office of the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries (Director Gong Dupyo) are recruiting participants for the "2024 Busan Port Construction and Operation Field Experience Program" from the 6th to the 30th. The program is open to university students majoring in construction-related fields and middle and high school students aspiring to become future construction and logistics professionals.
Since 2014, BPA and the Busan Port Construction Office have operated field experience and port operation tour programs mainly for university students to enhance understanding of the port. This year, the target participants have been expanded to include middle and high school students.
The experience program will be organized into a total of four teams (40 participants per team), accommodating 160 participants in total.
Participating schools are only responsible for the cost of transportation (such as chartered buses) for the field trip, while meals and travel insurance will be provided by BPA and the Busan Port Construction Office.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit Busan New Port, one of the world's two largest container transshipment hub ports, and the North Port redevelopment site, which is being transformed into a public leisure space. They will receive detailed explanations and firsthand experience of various special construction methods in use and the operational status of the container terminal.
Schools wishing to participate may apply regardless of location. For more information, please refer to the announcements on the website of the Busan Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries.
