The election result of 'Golf Empress' Park In-bee for the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes' Commission will be announced on the 8th (local time). The Paris Olympic Organizing Committee will announce the results of the IOC Athletes' Commission election and hold a press conference at the Main Press Center (MPC) established at Palais des Congr?s in Paris, France, in the afternoon. It was originally scheduled for the 7th but was postponed by one day.
This election is to select successors by athlete voting for four IOC Athletes' Commission members whose terms are ending, including Yoo Seung-min, president of the Korea Table Tennis Association, who was elected at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Park In-bee, who has won 21 career victories on the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, was chosen last year as South Korea's representative candidate, beating shooting star Jin Jong-oh (member of the National Assembly) and volleyball player Kim Yeon-koung (Heungkuk Life). She competes against 28 world-class athletes, including U.S. track and field sprint star Allison Felix and Hungarian fencing hero ?ron Szil?gyi.
Since the 22nd of last month, she has been campaigning around the Olympic Village and other locations. In particular, on the 4th, she visited Le Golf National in Guyancourt near Paris, where the final round of the Olympic men's golf was held, to cheer on athletes and appeal for support.

The Athletes' Commission represents the voices of athletes within the IOC. Athletes worldwide elect the members directly. The term is eight years. If Park In-bee is elected, she will become the first female IOC member from South Korea. South Korea will maintain three IOC members, including Lee Ki-heung, president of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, and Kim Jae-yeol, president of the International Skating Union (ISU).
