Current Male Idol Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Forced Molestation by Former Agency CEO
Omega X's Huichan Sent to Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office
Boy group Omega X member Hwichean, who was accused of sexually assaulting his former agency CEO, has been handed over to the prosecution.
According to the legal community on the 2nd, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station sent Hwichean to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office the day before on charges of forcible molestation.
On the afternoon of the 19th, Hwang Seong-woo, CEO of Spire Entertainment, the former agency of the group Omega X, held a press conference at Seongam Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to announce the release of CCTV footage related to the forced molestation case involving Omega X and the filing of a complaint. Spire stated, "We hesitated to file a criminal complaint and disclose the matter to the media because we did not want to label a young member as a sex offender, but Omega X members countered by accusing former CEO Kang, the victim, of forcible molestation, prompting us to respond." Former CEO Kang was previously accused and sent to the prosecution in October 2022 for assaulting another member, Jaehan.
Omega X's agency IPQ immediately denied the allegations. IPQ stated that former CEO Kang forced physical contact, and Hwichean had no choice but to comply due to fears of retaliation such as activity restrictions.
