Showers Across the Country... Increased Humidity Creates a 'Steam Pot' Effect
Showers are expected in various parts of the country until the night of the 2nd, but the sweltering heat and tropical nights are forecast to continue.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) forecasted showers over inland areas nationwide until the night of the 2nd, and in Chungbuk until the early morning of the 3rd. On Saturday the 3rd, showers are expected in the southern part of Chungbuk, the southern regions, and Jeju Island from the afternoon to evening. On Sunday the 4th, showers are forecast from morning to afternoon in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, the Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island.

On the 3rd, 5?20 mm of rain is expected in southern Chungbuk, Gwangju, inland Jeonnam, inland Jeonbuk, Daegu, southern inland Gyeongbuk, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and mountainous and eastern areas of Jeju Island. On the 4th, showers of 5?40 mm are expected in inland and mountainous Gangwon, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and 5?20 mm in mountainous and mid-southern highland areas of Jeju Island. Areas experiencing rain or showers will see temporary drops in temperature, but after the rain stops, temperatures will rise again during the day under high humidity, resulting in hot weather.
The lowest temperatures on the morning of the 3rd are expected to be between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius, and the highest daytime temperatures between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius. With heatwave warnings in effect nationwide, the KMA emphasized that the apparent temperature will rise to around 35 degrees Celsius in most areas for the time being, making it very hot with many places experiencing tropical nights. They urged people to take care of their health to prevent heat-related illnesses.

From early morning to morning on the 3rd, fog reducing visibility to less than 1 km is expected mainly along the southern coast and some southern inland areas. Additionally, sea fog is expected over all seas for the time being, so special caution is advised to prevent maritime safety accidents.
