Hanbok Fashion Show Held in Korea House Garden [Paris Olympics]
Showcasing Various Hanbok Including Traditional Ceremonial Attire
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft & Design Foundation announced on the 2nd that on the 1st (local time), they held a Hanbok fashion show as a pre-event for 'Korea Day' in the garden of the Paris Olympic Korea House set up in Paris, France.
The theme was 'A Summer Day Out of a Young Girl.' It materialized the imagination of a girl who participated in the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle visiting the Paris Olympic Korea House. Based on the historical connection between Paris and Korea, it conveyed a message celebrating the achievements of the Korean Olympic team and wishing for their victory.
Stylist Seo Young-hee served as the artistic director and oversaw the fashion show production. Hanbok designs were handled by Kim Young-jin, Kim In-ja, Kim Ji-won, Kim Hye-soon, Song Hye-mi, Yoo Hyun-hwa, and Lee Hye-soon. Together with twenty models active in Paris, they showcased various Hanboks including traditional ceremonial attire for rites such as gwallye (coming-of-age ceremony) and honrye (wedding ceremony).
