Coupang Play announced on the 1st that it will release 'Newtopia,' starring actor Park Jung-min and BLACKPINK's Jisoo, next year. The series depicts two lovers running toward each other across downtown Seoul, which is under attack by zombies.

Park Jung-min plays Lee Jae-yoon, a late enlistee soldier who encounters a zombie outbreak during his military service, while Jisoo portrays Kang Young-joo, Jae-yoon's girlfriend waiting for his discharge. The director is Yoon Sung-hyun, who directed the films 'The Guard Post' and 'Time to Hunt.' The screenplay is written by Han Jin-won, the writer of the film 'Parasite,' and Ji Ho-jin, the writer of the Disney+ original series 'Killer's Shopping Mall.'
