Korea Exchange Sponsors Financial Education Project for People with Developmental Disabilities
The Korea Exchange announced on the 31st that it has donated 30 million KRW in sponsorship funds for financial education for people with developmental disabilities to Peach Market.
The donation ceremony was attended by Hwang Woo-kyung, Secretary General of the KRX National Happiness Foundation, Ham Eui-young, CEO of Peach Market, and Choi Sun-ja, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Developmental Disabilities Welfare Center, among others.
'Financial Education for People with Developmental Disabilities' is a new project by the Exchange targeting financially marginalized groups. It provides customized financial education reflecting the cognitive and emotional characteristics of people with developmental disabilities who have income. The education is structured to offer repetitive experiences of reading, thinking, and conversing about financial situations encountered in daily life, reflecting the characteristics of people with developmental disabilities.
The Exchange plans to dispatch professional instructors to 11 institutions, including welfare centers for the disabled and employment companies for people with developmental disabilities, to conduct eight sessions of education for approximately 140 people with developmental disabilities.
