Professor Hwang Geum-suk of Daelim University Appointed Director of National Library for Disabled
Information System Development and Records Management Expert
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism appointed Hwang Geum-sook as the new director of the National Library for Persons with Disabilities on the 31st. The term of office is two years.
She is an expert with diverse experience in information system development and records management. Since 1998, she has served as a professor in the Department of Library, Media, and Information at Daelim University, actively working in the fields of library media information and reading education.
In particular, she has focused her research on training professionals in library and information science, strengthening reading capabilities for children with disabilities and marginalized groups, promoting reading culture in smart environments, and bibliotherapy. She has also served as the chairperson of the Subcommittee on Bridging the Knowledge Information Gap under the Presidential Library and Information Policy Committee, a member of the National Library of Korea's Materials Review Committee, and president of the Korean Reading Education Research Association.
