Gwangju Seo-gu Opens Water Playgrounds at Geumho Elementary and Matgoeul Children's Park
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that it will open water play areas at Kumho Elementary School playground and Matgoeul Children's Park.
From the 2nd to the 4th of next month, Seo-gu will operate ‘Good Seo-gu Wonderful’ at the Kumho Elementary School playground.
Additionally, six pools and five air bounce slides will be installed on the playground, and various experience booths such as ▲sticker tattoo decorating ▲beach ball decorating ▲making natural mosquito repellents will also be operated.
Seogu held the Special Summer Water Festa in the area around Pungam Sinam-ro on the 27th and 28th, offering various programs such as water balloon dodgeball and underwater games.

This event was promoted through collaboration between Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, and Kumho Elementary School, reflecting the meaning of ‘Sangsaeng Village,’ the Brand Identity (BI) of Kumho 1-dong. It is free for all local residents including children and parents. The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
From the 1st to the 2nd of next month, Seo-gu will hold ‘Hwasa Water Play’ at Matgoeul Children's Park.
Hwajeong 4-dong emphasizes the meaning of the village BI ‘Cultural Playground’ by installing water slides in the park and conducting water gun play, water balloon throwing, bubble performances, DJ performances, and more, aiming to give children joyful summer vacation memories.
Seo-gu is deploying safety managers, nursing staff, members of self-governing organizations, and volunteers at all events to ensure the safety of residents.
Kim Ikang, head of Seo-gu Office, said, “I hope children can overcome the heat and have a healthy summer vacation by enjoying water play with their families in their neighborhood and village. We will do our best to spread the village community culture by carrying out various projects centered on the unique BIs of each village and to create a happy and good Seo-gu for children.”
