Korail Gwangju Headquarters Operates 'Tramping Product' Linking Trains and Camping Cars
KORAIL Gwangju Headquarters announced on the 30th that it will operate a trenping product called ‘Camping Car City Tour with KTX,’ which connects KTX high-speed trains with camping cars to allow tourists to explore every corner of the Haenam area.
This product allows customers to take the KTX and visit and rent camping cars at a dedicated parking lot located just 3 minutes from Mokpo Station, then freely travel around the Haenam area and experience a free-spirited camping life in nature.
However, since the operation is supported by Haenam County, there is a penalty fee for staying outside the Haenam area when using the GPS-based app, so it must be used only within the Haenam region.
The product was developed through collaboration between KORAIL Gwangju Headquarters, Haenam County, and Para Co., Ltd. Train fares are discounted by up to 40%, and Haenam County and the camping cars offer a 55% discount for KORAIL exclusive products based on two-person usage, allowing camping cars to be rented for 120,000 KRW. As a first operation commemorative promotion, an additional weekday discount of up to 20% is available until September.
