Cheonan City Dispatches Delegation to the International Istanbul-Buyukcekmece Festival
Promotion of 'Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2024' to Mark 14th Anniversary of Cultural Exchange with Vucekmejesi
Cheonan City in Chungnam Province will dispatch a delegation to the 25th International Istanbul-Buyukcekmece Culture and Art Festival until the 1st of next month to discuss exchange and cooperation measures and promote the Heungtaryeong Dance Festival.
This delegation dispatch is being carried out at the invitation of Buyukcekmece City in T?rkiye, an international friendship city. Kim Seokpil, Deputy Mayor, will lead the delegation as acting Mayor of Cheonan and as the acting President of the Federation of International Dance Festivals (FIDAF). The delegation will commemorate the 14th anniversary of the cultural exchange agreement with Buyukcekmece and seek ways to enhance cooperation in social, economic, and cultural fields between the two cities.
In particular, the delegation will attend the Buyukcekmece Culture and Art Festival to promote the upcoming "Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2024" scheduled for September, and will meet with Buyukcekmece Mayor Hasan Akgun and others to discuss the "Korean House" construction project.
Additionally, the delegation plans to diversify international exchanges by visiting the KOTRA Istanbul Trade Center and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul.
Deputy Mayor Kim Seokpil said, "I hope that through this festival, the two cities can become one through the power of culture and art, and that our long-standing friendship will grow even stronger."
