Through the workplace improvement project that began this year, renovations have been completed on 89 facilities within the steelworks, including shower rooms, restrooms, offices, control rooms, and lounges.
Starting in the second half of this year, Pohang Steelworks plans to inject additional budget and launch a full-scale remodeling project for areas that require further improvement.
An employee working in the Hwaseong Department said, "Due to the nature of our work, I take showers two to three times during the workday, and after the factory shower rooms were remodeled, the satisfaction level among colleagues has greatly increased. I am happy to be able to work comfortably in the company, where I spend as much time as at home."
During the process of improving the workplace environment, Pohang Steelworks also plans to replace outdated equipment in each facility. Reflecting the needs of younger employees, the company will simultaneously purchase and replace chairs, cabinets, tables, air purifiers, personal lockers, refrigerators, and tumbler washers, further accelerating efforts to improve the working environment for its staff.
