Suwon City Takes Proactive Measures Against Ground Subsidence... GPR Survey Planned Until 2027
Suwon City is conducting road surveys using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to prevent ground subsidence safety accidents.
View original imageThe city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will use Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to inspect roads in order to prevent ground subsidence safety accidents.
On the 29th, Suwon City announced that it will divide the entire area into five zones and conduct GPR inspections until 2027. The total length of roads to be inspected is 1,245 km, with 165 km scheduled for inspection this year.
Previously, on the 25th and 26th, Suwon City conducted GPR inspections around the Suwon City Hall Station intersection and is currently analyzing the results. Ground subsidence occurred on the road in front of Exit 10 of Suwon City Hall Station on the 11th.
GPR inspection uses specific frequencies to identify potential ground subsidence areas that cannot be detected with the naked eye. It allows for early detection of underground cavities to prevent ground subsidence accidents.
After analyzing the inspection results using an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system, areas at risk of ground subsidence will be promptly repaired.
