View original imageThe Korean women's archery team, composed of Lim Si-hyeon (Korea National Sport University), Nam Su-hyeon (Suncheon City Hall), and Jeon Hun-yeong (Incheon City Hall), defeated Taiwan 6-2 (52-51 52-56 54-53 56-54) in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics team event held on the 28th (local time) at the historic Les Invalides special venue in Paris, France. Each of the three members shoots two arrows per set, totaling six arrows. Winning a set earns 2 points, a tie 1 point, and losing 0 points. In the team event, the first to reach 5 points wins, while in the individual event, the first to 6 points wins.
Earlier in the quarterfinals, the Netherlands defeated India 6-0 (52-51 54-49 53-48). Korea will face the Netherlands in the semifinals. Since the 1988 Seoul Games through the 2020 Tokyo Games, Korea has won the Olympic team gold medal nine consecutive times without fail. This is their attempt at a 10th consecutive victory.

Korea received the number 1 seed in the qualifying round, bypassed the first round, and advanced directly to the quarterfinals. Taiwan was no match for Korea. Taiwan reached the quarterfinals by defeating the United States 5-1 (53-53 55-52 54-48) in the round of 16 but fell short by 2% against Korea. Korea and Taiwan split the first two sets, but Korea edged out Taiwan by 1 point in the third set and then won by 2 points in the fourth set.
