The Democratic Party on the three-day hearing for the Korea Communications Commission Chair: "The opposition is obsessively beyond the limit"
Choi Sujin Chief Spokesperson's Comment
"Opposition's Abuse of Power and Show of Strength Should Be Within Limits"
The People Power Party criticized the opposition party on the 28th for persistently continuing the three-day confirmation hearing for nominee Lee Jin-sook, Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission, and even conducting an on-site inspection, calling it "beyond the limit and truly persistent."
Chief Spokesperson Choi Su-jin stated in a commentary that "What is the Democratic Party of Korea trying to achieve by going this far? Even with a majority of seats, this level of tyranny is beyond imagination," and pointed out, "Abuse of power and showing off strength should be kept within limits."
Choi added, "The hearing, which should have been a place to verify the nominee's qualifications and abilities, was filled with defamatory and personal attacks, reaching a disgraceful level," and suggested, "Perhaps it would be better to disband the Korea Communications Commission and adopt a party policy to place public broadcasting under the Democratic Party's control."
He continued, "The reckless rush of the major opposition party, obsessed with seizing control of broadcasting, clearly shows that they never intended to uphold the independence and normalization of public broadcasting from the start," emphasizing, "In response to the Democratic Party's indiscriminate push to pass the four broadcasting control bills, the People Power Party will engage in unlimited debate to thoroughly explain the unfairness of the bills and the Democratic Party's hidden sinister intentions."

Lee Sang-hwi, chairman of the Media Special Committee, also compared the opposition party's actions to Paul Joseph Goebbels, the propaganda minister of Nazi Germany, on Facebook. Lee criticized, "Over three days, no disqualifying reasons for nominee Lee were found, but under the pretext of suspicion and verification, they destroyed her character by putting the public in front," and said, "The opposition's clumsy Goebbels act will be recorded in history."
